Software such as PVTsim, PVTi, PVTp, PVTx, PVTflex or WINPROP are essential for doing a proper reservoir fluid characterization.
We discuss the difference between the advanced compositional EoS (equation of state) characterization software such as PVTsim, PVTi and WINPROP versus the simpler reservoir fluid characterization software such as PVTp or PVTx which may be sufficient to determine oil formation volume factor (Bo), gas oil ratio (GOR), bubble point pressure and viscosity for new venture assessments.
However, as we want you to develop into becoming a skilled PVT professional – our PVT training focus is on the theoretical and practical understanding of key PVT concepts rather than the use of software. When you hold a certificate of completion from this PVT course, you should be able to implement your learnings into any PVT software.
